New BSCC President | Dame Inga Beale

The British Swiss Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the election today of Dame Inga Beale as its new President. Her term will commence on February 1st, 2022.

Dame Inga is an accomplished international business leader with specific experience leading UK and Swiss domiciled global businesses in the insurance sector – most notably as the first female CEO of Lloyd's of London, the leading global insurance market. As both a CEO and since 2018 as an independent, non-executive director, Dame Inga's expertise is sought for her commercial acumen, leading business turnarounds, digital transformation, cultural change, driving performance, and value creation. Her current NED portfolio spans insurance, risk and asset management, and medical businesses. As an advocate for workplace equality, Dame Inga's leadership philosophy embraces inclusion and diversity as the key to unlocking talent and engaging young professionals.

"It is a great honour and a delight to be elected as BSCC President by its members and support their endeavours to strengthen trade.

"The BSCC is the premier business network in the £30 Billion annual trade relationship between the UK and Switzerland. The BSCC's mission is so important at this dynamic time in Europe and the world. The UK Swiss bilateral trade relationship is solid and well established, offering the certainty that business needs to invest and grow. I am looking forward to facilitating high-level dialogues and strengthening the network even further." - Dame Inga said.

Acting President, Dr Haig Simonian, commented, "The BSCC is so pleased to welcome back a leader of Dame Inga's international business stature as our President, with her unique experience of the UK and Swiss business worlds. She is also a trail-blazer for women through the many firsts she has achieved – perspectives that can only further empower the BSCC's mission as the economy adapts and re-establishes post-COVID."

"The response of our membership to Dame Inga's nomination has been so positive. We are looking forward to the energy and insights she will bring to our members, the Chamber's activities, and strengthen Anglo-Swiss relations, "said Caroline Rosenberger, General Manager of the BSCC”.

"My husband is Swiss and recently moved back to Switzerland. So while my working life is still mostly London-centred – I am so fortunate to enjoy both countries' cultural and business worlds – and sporting and outdoor life", Dame Inga added.

Dame Inga has previously served as a Councillor of the BSCC. She is the Chamber's second female President in its 102-year history. The first female President was Anne-Marie de Weck, 2016-2020, former managing partner of Lombard Odier, the Geneva-based private bank.
